Teachers attend workshop on new education syllabus at Obuasi

Obuasi, July 8, GNA – A three-day workshop on the teaching of the new educational reform syllabus for over 1,000 heads and teachers in basic schools in the Obuasi Municipality opened at Obuasi on Monday. It is being organized by the Municipal Education Directorate with the aim of upgrading the participant’s knowledge on the new syllabus to enable them effectively and positively teach their pupils. Opening it, Mrs Beatrice Boakye-Ansah Prempeh, Obuasi Municipal Education Director, called on the teachers to effectively and efficiently use the syllabus to benefit the child who is the centre of the school curriculum.

She said the new educational reform was on course and to ensure its smooth implementation, the government had put many interventions in place to meet its demands.

“The government had made it a policy to integrate in-service training into the school’s curriculum to help in the sustainable development of education staff so that they do not go stale”, he stressed.

Mrs Prempeh urged the participants to take the serious and acquire the requisite knowledge to handle the subjects to enhance quality education delivery in the country.
