Teachers at Adiemra robbed of their personal belongings

Nkawie (Ash), July 17, GNA- Mr Eddy Obeng-Darko, the Atwima District Director of Education, has condemned persistent attacks and robbery of personal effects of teachers at Adiemra.

He noted that apart from the economic and psychological trauma on the teachers, the acts also affected their output.

Mr Obeng-Darko said this when two of the Adiembra teachers, Mr Samuel Anarfi, the headteacher and Miss Joana Tweneboa, who are victims of the robbery, informed him of the incident at Nkawie on Friday. Within four weeks, the teachers have been robbed thrice and their properties including television sets, ghetto blusters, cassettes, refrigerators, wall clocks, gas cookers, clothing and other valuable items estimated at over 21 million cedis had been stolen.

The matter, he said had been reported to the police and appealed to the public to ensure the security and protection of the teachers and help arrest the perpetrators.
