Teachers arrested for allegedly stealing computers

Three teachers of the Fete D.A. JHS including the Assistant Headmaster have been arrested for allegedly stealing computers from the school.

According to the Winneba District Commander of Police, Superintendent Rev John Opoku, the three are the only people with direct access to the place where the computers are kept.

He said incidentally, the three came to report that 14 out of 24 computers at the school’s laboratory had been stolen, but the police realised that the room had not been broken into.

They have therefore been charged with the offence of stealing pending further investigations.

Meanwhile, the Gomoa East District Director of Education, Mrs Grace Obodai has expressed dismay at the incident.

She said she expects the police to help the school to retrieve the computers.
