Teacher remanded for defiling 15 year old pupil

Juaso (Ash), Dec. 2, GNA – The Juaso Circuit Court presided over by Mr S.K. Sarpong Appiah, has remanded a teacher into prison custody for defiling a 15-year-old Junior High School pupil at Komeso near Obogu in the Asante Akim South District.

Emmanuel Asare Bediako confessed that the victim was his girlfriend but sentence was deferred to December 15, 2009. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Simon Agbedeka, prosecuting told the court that the complainant was the victim’s father while the accused was a teacher at Komeso.

He said about two months ago, the complainant learnt that the accused was having an affair with the victim and informed the head teacher of the accused but he denied the allegation. The complainant, who had since then been monitoring the victim’s movement, on November 22 at about 2100 hours had information that the victim was in the accused’s room.

He then rushed to the house and entered the room, which had been left ajar only to find the two in bed, thereby engaging the accused in a scuffle. The complainant later reported the case to the Police leading to the arrest of the accused, who admitted having an affair with the victim. 2 Dec. 09
