Accra, July 13, GNA – A 25-year-old teacher who allegedly had sex with his pupil aged 14 years appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on Thursday charged with defilement. Frank Nutifafa pleaded not guilty but the court remanded him to reappear on July 18.
The case presented by Police Inspector Isaac A.A. Ahor was that on Friday June 30 2006, Nutifafa gave his cell phone number to the victim to call him for an important message the following day. The victim at 1000 hours the following day called the Nutifafa who asked her to meet him at his house.
When the victim arrived, Nutifafa took her into his room and defiled her.
The Prosecution said on June 4 2006, Nutifafa met the victim and warned her not to disclose the act to anyone but on June 10, the victim who could not endure the trauma and embarrassment informed her father, who in turn reported the matter to the Police at Tema.
The case was referred to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit of the Police Service for further investigations.
