Juaso (Ash), Feb. 3, GNA – The Juaso Circuit Court has remanded a female teacher at Obogu near Juaso into custody for assaulting another woman in the company of her sister.
The victim died in hospital two weeks after the incident, investigation into the assault case was still going on. Juliana Boateng’s plea was not taken on charges of conspiracy and murder, and she is to reappear on February 10, 2005, while Victoria Ohemeng, her sister is on the run.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector B.L. Amoah told the court presided over by Mr Jacob Boon that on December 29, 2004, at 1510 hours, Victoria’s husband who is a druggist went to the victim’s house to administer an injection on her, when Victoria had information that her husband had gone to the victim’s house.
He said Victoria informed Juliana that her husband had visited his girlfriend, therefore, the two women armed themselves with a club, rushed to the victim’s house, they met Victoria’s husband there and attacked the victim and in the process, Juliana hit the forehead of the victim with the club.
A Good Samaritan separated them, but the victim reported the case to the Obogu police, where she was issued with a medical form to go to hospital for treatment. Juliana also made a complaint to police that the victim had assaulted her, and a medical form was given to her to attend hospital for treatment.
Chief Inspector Amoah said the following day, the accused persons were arrested and charged with assault, but while the case was under investigation, the victim fell unconscious and was rushed to Agogo hospital, however, on arrival, she was pronounced dead and the body has been deposited at the Agogo mortuary for autopsy. Juliana was immediately arrested and charged with murder, but police could not lay hands on Victoria.
