TEACHER JAILED FOR STEALING TEXT BOOKS

A High Court at Goaso in Brong Ahafo Region has sentenced a 35-year-old teacher at the Mim Roman Catholic Junior Secondary School to four years in prison. The teacher, James Atanga Yare Ayamgo, who stole a quantity of textbooks from the school as well as the belongings of the General Manager of the Mim Timber Company, pleaded guilty to stealing the items. Police Chief Inspector Edmund Mensah, told the court, presided over by Justice Paul Gyaesayor, that last week, the General Manager of Mim Timber Company, Mr. Osei Kusi , reported that someone had broken into his house and made away with some of his personal belongings. Following a tip-off, Mr.. Ayamgo was arrested. When he was searched, a quantity of textbooks and a stapling machine belonging to the school were found in his possession. Also found in his house were personal belongings of Mr. Kusi. End
