Teacher in court for reportedly defiling step-daughter

Cape Coast, Dec 11, GNA – A forty-six-year-old teacher, George Kwabena Annor, has appeared before at a circuit court in Cape Coast for sexually abusing his 17-year old step-daughter. He pleaded not guilty to the charges of defilement, assault and attempted rape and was remanded in police custody to re-appear on Thursday, December 16.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Francis Ockom told the court, presided over by Mr Samuel Asare Nyarko, that the victim had been living with the accused since she was nine years old. He said Annor has since 2008 had sexual intercourse with the victim and always warned her not to disclose the incident to anyone, to which she obliged.

Chief Inspector Ockom said in November this year, the accused assaulted the victim when she refused to engage in sexual intercourse with him. He said the victim sought refuge in a pastor’s house where she narrated her ordeal and a report was made to the Cape Coast DOVSU. A police medical report was issued for the victim’s examination and treatment, while the accused was later arrested. 11 Dec. 10
