Teacher, 36, commits suicide

A thirty-six (36) year old basic school teacher at St. Lawrence School Complex, South Tesano, Sylvester Yeboah has hanged himself to death at his Abeka residence in Accra on Thursday morning.

Narrating the unfortunate event his landlord, Osman Tanko said he was called upon by another tenant who wanted to visit the loo but found it locked up from the inside for more than reasonable space of time.

After observing for a while, he (the landlord) pipped through a window and saw someone hanged himself with neck-tie. Sharing testimonies about Sylvester, the landlord together with people within the neighbourhood said he was a kind man with regards for almost everybody who comes him way.

When we visited where he works, his employer, Mrs. Felicia Mc-Sallah who is the director of St. Lawrence described him as one of the hard working staff members who would devote to render any assistance whenever the need arose beside their mandated duties. When asked, Mrs. Mc-Sallah said the deceased never shared anything that bothered him beyond his control with his colleagues nor school authority.

His close friend and teaching colleague, Priscilla including some of the pupils who have graduated from the school could not save it, but shared tears for the late Sylvester Yeboah questioning, why could he do this?

Rumour about the death of the man who hail from NkonyaAkloba in the Volta Region say he had told some people before committing the suicide that he may travel but could not tell of his destination. In another conversation, he was believed to have said he might die anytime
