Bawku (U/E) Sept. 20 GNA – Seidu Musah, a taxi driver, received a couple of slaps from his female passenger when he was caught using the driving mirror to peep under her skirts.
Maame Serwah Boateng, a 26-year old passenger who boarded the taxi from Bolgatanga to Bawku, said as the taxi set off, she realized that the driver was using the driving mirror to sexually assault her by focusing consistently on the cleft between her thighs.
She told the GNA in Bawku that she complained to the driver and the other passengers but the driver would not pay heed to her concerns so the next time she caught him spying at the cleft, she mastered courage and landed some heavy slaps on his face.
This, she said, resulted in a melee in the car and she intended to report the matter to the police but the other passengers in the taxi pleaded with her to let it go.
Mr Rockson Atiah, a retired teacher who happened to be one of the other passengers in the taxi, called on female passengers to always dress decently when traveling to avoid such harassments.
He said if Serwaah Boateng had dressed to cover up her knees, the driver could not have taken advantage to harass her.
