Taxi driver in trouble for thumb biting

Yaw Samuel, a taxi driver of the Ashaiman Municipality is in the hands of the Ashaiman Police for allegedly biting off the right thumb of the deputy head of the Municipal Guards, Mr Franklin Bediako Anoma.

Samuel was reportedly driving a taxi with the registration number: GN 1154 Z when he was arrested by Mr Anoma for alleged unauthorized parking and misconduct.

The cabbie was, consequently, ordered to pay a spot fine of GH¢ 40.00, which was paid by the occupant of the taxi.

However, in the process of issuing the receipt, the taxi driver reportedly pulled Mr Anoma’s thumb into his mouth and bit it off.

The Ashaiman Police are thus processing the taxi driver to appear before the Ashaiman Circuit Court.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency later, Mr Anoma appealed to public spirited persons to support him to recover from his crisis.
