Tawiah-Nkwanta gets new JSS block, KVIP from HIPC Fund

Twifo-Tawiah-Nkwanta (C/R), Oct. 18, GNA – Mr Samuel Yaw Agyeibi Kessie Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District Chief Executive, on Monday inaugurated a new three classroom block and a KVIP for Tawiah Nkwanta, D/A Junior Secondary School, constructed at a total cost of 270 million cedis.

The projects were funded with 230 million cedis from the HIPC Fund, while the District Assembly provided 40 million cedis. In an address, Mr Kessie repeated calls on parents to take advantage of the government’s free basic education policy to send their children especially, girls to school.

Mr Kessie expressed concern over poor performance of children in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and appealed to the teachers, to strive hard to reverse the situation and to help enhance education about the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) by educating people in their communities about its benefits. He appealed to the teachers to ensure proper maintenance of the school block and the KVIP.
