Ekumfi-Eyisam (C/R), Nov. 10, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufuor on Wednesday cut the sod for the tarring of the 15-kilometre Ekumfi-Eyisam-Nanabin-Narkwa road in the Mfantseman District. The 3.4 Billion cedis project to be funded under the Road fund would be completed within 12 months.
President Kufuor called on the contractors to do good work and work within the stipulated period.
He said efforts would be made to establish a Fruit Processing Factory in the area to utilize the abundant Pineapple produced in the area.
Nana Baah VII, chief of Ekumfi Twa and Acting President of Ekumfi Traditional Council commended the Government for fulfilling its promise to rehabilitate the road.
President Kufuor during a recent tour of the Central Region this year pledged at a durbar of the chiefs and people at Ekumfi-Narkwa that the road would be rehabilitated to utilize the agricultural potential in the area.
Nana Baah appealed for the rehabilitation of other feeder roads within the Ekumfi Traditional Area. 10 Nov 04
