Tarkwa Nsueam Assembly finally elects PM

After several months of postponements, the Tarkwa Nsueam Assembly has finally succeeded in electing Mr Joseph Alban Mensah, as the new Presiding Member (PM).

Mr Alban Mensah, who is the constituency propaganda secretary of the National Democratic Congress, was the only candidate who filed his nomination and polled 34 votes out of the 42 total votes cast.

The incumbent Presiding Member Mr Moses Ackah, who had on two occasions contested the winner, stepped down before the commencement of the election.

Mr Mensah thanked his predecessor and the Assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and urged them to continue to rally behind him to improve the area.

He also pledged to work hard to ensure a transparent administration and help revive the image of the Assembly.

Mrs Christina Kobinah, the Municipal Chief Executive, together with the Coordinating Director, Mr Innocent Haligah commended the Assembly members for the successful conduct of the election.
