PRESS RELEASE

TAMALE RAIN STORM

I have been deeply touched by the plight of our brothers and sisters in Tamale who have become internally displaced persons as a result of the destruction of their homes by the rains that hit Tamale yesterday.

Apart from homes and personal property that got destroyed, the situation hits harder as schools and other buildings that serve the public, have also been badly affected by the storm and adversely affecting the day to day activities of the people of Tamale.

I share in the anguish of our brethren who have been affected by the storm and appeal to institutions and individuals that are in a position to help, to extend a hand either in cash, kind, or both, as our brethren make strenuous efforts to pick up the pieces.

In particular, I ask of the Northern Regional NADMO Coordinator as well as the National NADMO Coordinator to quickly endeavour to provide shelter, clothing, food and much needed medicare to hold in check any health problems that may arise from the sad and unfortunate situation.
