Tamale Police Christian Fellowship supports widow

The Northern Regional Police Christian Fellowship has supported a 45 year old widow with GH¢1,100 to enable her pay her medical bills.

The woman who hails from Gumani, a community in the Tamale Metropolis, had being diagnosed with Spondylolisthesis/Lumber Canal Stenosis, a condition that makes it very difficult for her to move.

According to the Welfare Department of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, she needs GH¢ 3, 200.00 to enable her go through surgery at the hospital.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mathew Kojo Appiagyei, Deputy Northern Regional Police Commander, led the group to present the donation to the Welfare Department of the hospital on Friday in Tamale.

He said the gesture was part of the group’s advocacy to support the less privilege in society as part of celebrations to mark Easter when Christ was raised from the dead about some 2,000 years ago.

ACP Appiagyei advised people to give a helping hand to the needy since the Holy Bible admonished Christians to be each other’s keeper.

On the up-coming election, he reiterated the need for the public to collaborate with the police to ensure peace in the country.

Madam Vivien Anyaakuu, Head of the Welfare Unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital received the donation on behalf of the widow.

She thanked the team for the support and called on other philanthropist, organizations and religious bodies to come to aid of the widow to enable her go through surgery.
