Tamale NYEP management under fire

Some beneficiaries of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) in the Tamale Metropolis are up in arms against the regional management over their unpaid allowances.

According to them, they have not received their allowances for 17 months. Aside the accumulated arrears, the angry NYEP beneficiaries are worried about the demand for their original appointment letters.

Some of them who spoke to Citi News spewed, “We have been informed by radio announcement that we should submit our original appointment letters and when we inquired, the only explanation was that we were to be re-engaged; meanwhile, we have not been paid for 17 months.”
