Tamale NPP TESCON congratulates minister

Tamale, Feb. 21, GNA – The Tamale Polytechnic branch of the Tertiary Student Confederacy of the NPP (TESCON) has congratulated Mr Boniface Abubakari Saddique on his appointment and confirmation as the Northern Regional Minister.

In a statement issued in Tamale on Friday and signed by Mr Haruna Rafik, interim secretary of the group said the decision of the President to appoint Mr Saddique was due to the excellent manner he executed his job during his tenure as the deputy Minister of Tourism and Modernization of the Capital City and Member of Parliament for Salaga Constituency.

The statement urged the Minister to work harder than before to justify the confidence the President had reposed in him and that the group would support the minister in all his activities. The statement appealed to the Minister to use his experience to lift the image of the region above other regions to complement the efforts of civil society groups to find a lasting solution to the Dagbon crisis.

The statement reminded the Minister of the poverty and illiteracy rate in the region and called for pragmatic steps and efforts to reduce the phenomenon.

The statement expressed the hope that, Mr Saddique would involve and engage the youth in activities that would turn their minds away from social vices to ensure that there was lasting peace in Dagbon. The statement commended the President for nominating a young person, who could easily be identified with the youth and that the group would work tirelessly with the Minister to ensure that the NPP performs better in the region in the next elections.
