Tamale Central Mosque gets ambulance

Tamale, April 11, GNA – Alhaji Mustapha Ali Idris, Northern Regional Minister on Friday presented an ambulance valued at about GH¢35,487 to the Tamale Central Mosque to facilitate healthcare delivery in the Metropolis. The presentation was made possible through an appeal to the Tamale Office of Taysec Construction Limited, a construction firm, which subsequently sourced funds to purchase the ambulance.

Presenting the keys to Alhaji Abdul Salem, Deputy Chief Imam of the Mosque, Alhaji Idris advised them not to use the ambulance to carry corpses but to facilitate the conveyance of sick persons to the hospital. The Regional Minister thanked the management of Taysec for the assistance and appealed to other corporate bodies and individuals to assist to purchase a hearse for the mosque.

Alhaji Salem expressed gratitude to the Regional Minister and management of Taysec for the gesture and gave the assurance that the ambulance would be used for its intended purpose. He said the donation was timely because it would lessen the burden of the leadership of the mosque in searching for means of transport to send a sick person to the hospital. He appealed to the Minister and Taysec to continue with their cordial relationship and collaborative efforts to get the mosque a hearse to avoid the temptation of using the ambulance to pick corpses.
