Tamale Airport ready for historic 2016 Hajj take off

With about 18 days to Ghana’s first flight from Tamale International Airport to Medina in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hajj committee is certain that the scheduled three flights take off from Tamale will become a reality barring any unforeseen circumstances.

The Administrative Secretary of the Pilgrims Affairs of Ghana (PAOG) Alhaji Mohammed Osman Manaf who was in Tamale last Saturday with Mr. Mohammed Jagri for a working visit, expressed satisfaction on the work done so far at the Airport.

“Visit to some facility at the Airport upon arrival from Accra provided us with a high sense of optimism about a possible smooth take off,” Alhaji Manaf noted.

He also visited some Chiefs, Imams and opinion leaders in Tamale to officially remind them of the much anticipated Hajj 2016 flight schedules for Tamale that would cater for pilgrims from the three Northern Regions.

Meanwhile, the Hajj Committee under the leadership of Alhaji Abdul Rauf Tanko Ibrahim in a statement urged all would-be pilgrims anticipating to fly from Tamale Airport to take advantage of the direct flight.

“We thank the good people of Tamale for the supports and all. We pray Allah would keep stakeholders in Hajj operations in Ghana together and help them to eschew negative things that would rock their smooth sailing board,” the statement said.
