Some of the evacuees from Malabo (Fernando Po), Equatorial Guinea, has stories to narrate about maltreatment meted out to them by the authorities of that country.
Some claimed they were arrested by the Equatorial Guinea police, beaten, their passports torn into shreds and their monies seized.
They have therefore called on the government to help them resettle, have something doing to enable them earn their living.
One of the returnees who hails from the Brong-Ahafo Region, and who said he had been employed as a security man in Malabo, told the paper that he was arrested and detained at ?Central?, the only police station in Malabo and beaten by the police.
He said his landlord assured for his arrest, adding that during his period of incarceration, the police seized his 200 dollars, which was all the money he had saved, as well as his mobile phone.
