Talensi MP Inspects road projects in constituency

Mr. John Tia Akolgo, the Member of Parliament for Talensi, has inspected some major roads in the Talensi Nabdan District; these included Zuarungu/ Kpatia, Tindongo/Sheaga and Nangodi/Pelungu roads.

The tour was to enable him to ascertain how bad the roads are and how they could be rehabilitated. The road from Zuarungu to Kpatia, constructed in 1994, had its culverts broken down.

Mr. Akolgo told the people that steps were being taken to immediately reconstruct the major culverts.

He said the road between Winkogo and Tongo, which was given out on contract since 2007, had been abandoned and suggested that the contract be terminated and awarded to another contractor.

Mrs Vivian Anafu, District Chief Executive of Talensi-Nabdam, said she had gotten in touch with the Feeder Roads Department to reconstruct the culverts.

Mr. Samuel Banini, Regional Manager of the Department of Feeder Roads, said routine maintenance of the road was on going and added that the culverts needed to be widened.**
