Takoradi Hospital still needs help

Takoradi, March 15, GNA – The Works Department of the Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan Assembly (SAEMA) on Monday handed over two semi-detached nurses quarters to the management of the Effia Nkwanta Hospital.

The buildings, which cost 352.4 million cedis, were constructed from the 2004 health component of the HIPC fund. Receiving the keys, Dr. Daniel Sabeng, Medical Director of the Takoradi Hospital, said the hospital needed more infrastructure to enable it to meet the increasing health needs of the people of Takoradi and beyond.

He said rehabilitation works had started on existing buildings at the hospital and appealed to private companies and individuals to help make the hospital a modern and well-equipped facility. 15 March 05
