Takoradi explosion: Akufo-Addo consoles victims

President Nana Akufo-Addo has expressed his sympathies to the victims involved in a gas explosion which occurred in the Western Region on Tuesday, May 9.

The explosion at the Ghana Household Utilities Manufacturing Company Limited (GHUMCO) on the Sekondi-Takoradi highway resulted in over 100 injuries.

Mr Akufo-Addo said in a tweet on Wednesday, May 10 that he was “very sad and sorry to hear about the gas explosion in Takoradi” yesterday.

“I extend my deepest condolences to the injured and families affected,” he added.

He, however, explained that he was “awaiting the report of the incident from the Western Regional Minister to see what government can do to stop such incidents in the future”.
