Take advantage of the birth of Jesus for salvation-Otabil

Accra, Dec. 25, GNA- Pastor Mensah Otabil, General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church, on Sunday called on Christians to take advantage of the occasion of the birth of Jesus to seek their salvation.

Speaking at the Christmas day service in Accra, he said Christ did not come for a particular group of people but to all who believed in him he gave them the power to be called God’s children.

“Receiving Jesus means one’s life should never be the same”, he said and noted that attending church was not enough to live in a Christ-like manner even though they were no perfect human beings.

Recalling the birth of Jesus and his unique conception some 2000 years ago, he said Christ was unique because he came to fulfill a prophecy and to save his people (those who have received him) from their sins.

According to Pastor Otabil, Jesus came from a unique origin being the son of God the father, he had a unique kingdom which has no end and that there was the need for all who believe in him to take advantage of his saving power.

“The birth of Jesus Christ more than 2000 years ago, marked the redemption of mankind as promised by God and it is an event that reminds Christians of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead and it is one of the most important beliefs of Christians that whosoever believes in Him will be saved.” The Saviour born of the Virgin Mary in a stable signifying humility, teaches Christians to do good and to return good for bad, he said.
