Tailor bonded to be of good behaviour for assaulting wife

Cape Coast, May 13, GNA – Kofi Wiafe, a 47-year-old tailor was on Friday bonded to be of good behaviour for one year by a circuit court at Cape Coast for assaulting his wife, Augustina Ayinam.

He pleaded guilty and would go to prison for six months in default. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo, told the court presided over by Mr Mustapha Logoh, that the couple lives at Amamoma, near the University College of Cape Coast, and that on March 16, this year, Augustina told Wiafe that her parents had sent for her. He said this did not go down well with Wiafe, because Augustina frequently sought permission to attend to her parents and he therefore, refused to let her go.

Chief Inspector Azasoo said this resulted in an exchange of words, during which, a struggle ensued and Wiafe assaulted his wife and the matter was reported to WAJU and Wiafe was arrested.
