Syracuse Mayor proclaims “Ghana Day”

Syracuse City Hall was the scene for the kick-off of a month long celebration of the 50th anniversary of the independence of the West African nation of Ghana.

The Ghana Society received a proclamation from the city’s mayor for Ghana Day. While city hall is often the scene of celebrations by various ethnic groups, this marks the first time such an event honored an African nation.
