Sylvester Mensah is a palpable liar – Ras Boateng

The former Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority,Ras Boateng has fired a salvo at the current CEO of the scheme branding him a “liar”.

He contends that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is under life support as a result of what he says is the mismanagement of the scheme by Mr. Sylvester Mensah.

Mr. Boateng said the abysmal performance of managers of the scheme in just three and half years has led to a decrease in subscribership nationwide.

Ras Boateng’s assertion contradicts the position held by the NHIA boss who claims to have expanded and improved the management of the scheme.

Sylvester Mensah has also threw a challenge at the former head of the Authority, Ras Boateng to a debate over the management of the scheme.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday, Ras Boateng intimated that NHIS boss is being economical with the truth just to save his job.

According to him, Mr. Mensah is under the pressure from his superiors to paint a good picture about the scheme ahead of the December general elections.

He alleged that Sylvester Mensah awful performance and profligate expenditure at the Authority has made the scheme a net borrower.

Ras Boateng urged President John Mahama not to reconsider retaining Sylvester Mensah as boss of the NHIA.
