Swedru witnesses historic wedding

Bride based in USA and bridegroom in Switzerland
The Saint Anthony Catholic Church at Agona Swedru on Saturday, witnessed a historic wedding on Saturday when for the first time in the history of the town, the couples used a limousine for their wedding ceremony.

People travelled from Agona Asafo, Nsaba, Duakwa Nyakrom and Kwayanko to catch a glimpse of Mr Philip Kugblenya and Agatha Prah enjoying the limousine ride through principal streets of Agona Swedru.

Photographers earned extra money from the sale of pictures they took of the limousine through the town and sold a post card copy for between 6,000 and 7,000 cedis.

The woman based in United Stated of America and the man in Switzerland flew to Ghana for the wedding.

The Officiating Priest, Rev. Fr. K. Quagraine urged the couples to let God be their watchword since they had taken the vow “for better for worst”.

He said that communication in marriage was an essential tool, which could prolong marriages and make them enjoyable, adding that, there should avoid “cold war” that could end their marriage.

Ravened Father Quagraine advised them to learn how to say, “I am sorry” to each other to cool tempers.

Later in an Interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr and Mrs Kuglenya said that they had not regretted spending 350 dollars for hiring the limousine for the wedding.

According to Mrs Kugblenya “at least one day man and woman must enjoy life since one day we shall not see ourselves again until thy Kingdom come”.
