Swedru residents in Canada support orphanage

Agona Swedru, May 6, GNA – Citizens of Agona Swedru and surrounding towns resident in Canada on Wednesday presented four bales of used clothing to children of the Mother Care Orphanage Home and Welfare at Swedru.
Mr Kwame Quansah, the leader of the group, gave the items on behalf of the group. Mr Kwesi Eduful, a member of the group, promised that the group would go back to Canada and raise more relief items and cash for the Orphanage. Mr Ofori-Atta, the Administrator of the Orphanage, thanked the donors and appealed to corporate bodies, non-governmental organizations and well-to-do Ghanaians to come to the aid of the orphans. He said the Home was going through serious financial constraints in catering for the orphans, adding that payment of school fees of the childre= n had become a problem. The Administrative Manager expressed regret that for about three months now workers at the orphanage had not been paid.
