SWAG Mourns Passing of Former President Ebo Quansah

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has announced, with deep sadness, the passing of its fifth President, Ebo Quansah. A dedicated stalwart of the association, Mr. Quansah played a pivotal role in promoting sports journalism in Ghana.

Rising through the ranks of SWAG, he served as Deputy Secretary, Secretary-General, and ultimately as President from 2001 to 2007. Even after his presidency, Mr. Quansah continued to support the association as its patron, contributing tirelessly to the development of sports journalism.

In a statement issued on June 26, 2025, SWAG praised Mr. Quansah’s passion, dedication, and remarkable leadership, which left a lasting impact on the sports media landscape in Ghana. The association extended heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

“Mr. Ebo Quansah’s tireless efforts to promote sports journalism and development in Ghana will be deeply missed,” the statement read.

SWAG assured the public that further details on funeral arrangements will be communicated through his family.

As the sports fraternity mourns this great loss, many remember Ebo Quansah as a visionary leader whose legacy will continue to inspire generations of sports journalists in Ghana. May he rest in peace.
