Suspected thief lynched at Shama

A man believed to be in his 30s was found dead Wednesday morning at Inchaban in the Shama District of the Western Region.

The body of the man, who is yet to be identified, was found naked near a refuse dump site off the Dwomo road with abrasions. Although the cause of death is unknown, residents suspect the man to be thief lynched at dawn by some unknown assailants.

Assembly member for the area, Francis Binney, told Connect 97.1FM that he was informed of the incident by some neighbours at about 6:00am Wednesday and he immediately proceeded to the crime the scene.

Mr Binney said he notified the Inchaban Police who arrived at the scene to convey the body to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital morgue in Sekond.

Meanwhile, the Police has commenced investigations to establish the cause of his death and those behind it.
