Suspected murderer remanded for killing friend

Kumasi, July 9, GNA – Kwadwo Adomako, aged 18, was on Tuesday put before Kumasi Circuit Court for allegedly murdering Asuma Mohammed, a 16-year-old boy, over a notebook.

He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody to re-appear on July 15.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector John K. Afful told the Court that the accused, a friend to the deceased, had a notebook with him and on July 1 he went to Mohammed to collect the book but he refused to give it to him.

This strained their relationship and on July 3 the accused confronted Mohamed for his notebook and this generated into a heated argument.

The two fought during which Adomako allegedly stabbed Mohammed on the neck, face and chest.

The deceased’s shouts for help attracted people to the scene. They took him to the Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
