Suspected cases of Cerebro Meningitis in Nadowli District

Nadowli (U/W), April 18, GNA – Ten suspected cases of Cerebro Meningitis were reported in the Nadowli District in the first quarter of the year but no deaths were recorded.

As a result, school children and people with close contacts as well as inhabitants of 21 border communities had been immunised against the disease.

Health workers had maintained a round-the clock surveillance of the disease as a measure to control its occurrence in the area, Wing Commander Eric Dakurah (RTD), District Chief Executive of Nadowli, said this at the fourth general meeting of Nadowli District Assembly on Thursday.

He appealed to assembly members to help educate people in the communities to avoid over-crowding and that they should report all suspected CSM cases to the nearest health institution.
