Supreme Court Judge Under Investigation

The Judicial Secretary, Emmanuel Owusu Ansah says investigations are underway to establish the truth or otherwise of the alleged bribery of a Cape Coast High Court judge by a Supreme Court judge. According to him, soon after investigations are complete, the findings will be made public.

Earlier this week, the Ghanaian Times newspaper reported that a Cape Coast High Court judge, Justice K. K. Acquaye allegedly refused a bribe from a sitting Judge at the Supreme Court whose name was not disclosed.

The report said the Supreme Court Judge together with one person described as a retired employee of the Takoradi branch of GHACEM attempted to influence the High Court judge to rule in favour of their client, Nana Amafu Adu, a faction in the Mankessim Chieftaincy dispute.
