“Support government on Positive Change Chapter Two”

Mankranso (Ash), Jan 2, GNA – Mr Joseph Agyemang Dapaah, Presiding Member of the Ahafo-Ano South District Assembly, has called for total support for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) Positive Change Chapter Two programme for its total success.

He said the poverty reduction programme of the government and other initiatives could not succeed if Ghanaians remained apathetic. Addressing the closing session of the second ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Mankranso on Wednesday, Mr Dapaah said the fight against vices such as corruption, bribery and dishonesty should be the collective responsibility of all Ghanaians.

He also reminded the assembly members that there could not be job creation, attractive salaries improved service conditions and development in their communities without their active support and involvement in the implementation of government policies and programmes. The Presiding Member called for punctuality to work, commitment to duty of both public and private workplaces and the prompt payment of taxes by people in the private sector to enable the government to generate enough revenue to undertake the necessary projects in the communities.

Mr Dapaah called for full co-operation from the assembly members for the administration for the assembly to achieve its revenue target this year.
