Support EC for peaceful polls – Prof Delle

Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Professor Edmund Delle has asked Ghanaians to rally behind the Electoral Commission (EC) in its quest to ensure free, fair, and transparent polls in November.

Speaking to Class News, Professor Delle said support for the electoral management body was crucial if Ghana was to maintain her status as the beacon of democracy in Africa.

“We are in an election year and I take this opportunity to call on Ghanaians that please, let us support the Electoral Commission, let us support these institutions like the judiciary and so forth, support our security services, so that together, we move this country forward, so that there will be peace during, before, and after the election, so once again we shall prove to the world that Ghana is an oasis of democracy, is an oasis of peace, it is where we live and die,” he stated.

Ghana will be going to the polls in November to elect a new president and Members of Parliament.
