Sunyani Sunflower Programme inaugurated

Kwatire (B/A), Feb 18, GNA – The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development procured five sunflower oil-processing machines at the cost of 451 million cedis.

Mr Kwadwo Adjei-Darko, Member of Parliament for Sunyani West, said this on Wednesday at the inauguration of Sunyani Sunflower Implementation Programme at Kwatire, near Sunyani.

He said the Northern and Brong-Ahafo regions received two each of the machines, whilst the remaining one went to Ashanti Region. Mr Adjei-Darko said each of the machines could operate at a maximum capacity of 150 bags of Sunflower a day.

He appealed to Municipal and District Chief executives to use part of the Assemblies’ Common Fund to support sunflower farmers in the provision of inputs.
