Sunyani Hospital receives modern equipment

The Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital in Sunyani has taken delivery of modern hospital equipment and other items worth millions of Ghana cedis.

They comprise two new mobile X-ray machines, CT scan, a C-Arm, examination lamps, pediatric colts, trolleys, surgical equipment, 40 bedside cabinets, hospital beds, mattresses and pillows.

The items form part of the National Medical Equipment Replacement Project, being implemented in the country by the Ministry of Health and Belstar Development Limited, a United State of America-based Company worth 276 million dollar.

Mr Harry Ameti,the Project Coordinator, explained that under the project initiated in 2012, selected government and missionary hospitals, health centres and clinics were being supplied with the hospital equipments.

He said all operating theatres at the various regional hospitals would be stocked with modern and equipment.

Dr Jacob Abebrese, Medical Superintendent, said the items has come at the right time and commended the government for making health a priority.
