Sunyani: 62nd Remembrance Day service.

At Sunyani, a Remembrance Day service in honour of fallen soldiers, who fought in the first and second world wars and other subsequent wars was marked at a short ceremony at the Legion Hall in Sunyani. The ceremony, which attracted a cross-section of the public, had on parade some members of the security forces in the Brong-Ahafo Region, drawn from the armed forces, police and prison services as well as veteran soldiers.

Wreaths were laid by the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, on behalf of the government and people of Ghana, Captain Klutse, acting Third Garrison Commander, on behalf of the Ghana Armed Forces, Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Commander, DCOP James Oppong Boanu, for the security services, Brong-Ahafo Regional Vice-Chairman of the Veterans Association of Ghana, W.O. I Steven Diawuo, for the veterans and the Deputy President of the Brong-Ahafo Regional House of Chief, Nana Kwame Korang V, for the chiefs and people of the Region.

Mr Kwame Twumasi-Awuah, Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, and Mr F O Boateng, Regional Coordinating Director, among other dignitaries, graced the occasion.
