Success of 24-Hour Economy requires full gov’t, audit service support – Bagbin

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has called on all arms of government and the audit service to play an active role in ensuring the success of Ghana’s 24-hour economy.

Addressing Members of Parliament at a post-budget workshop in Accra, Bagbin emphasised that the executive alone could not ensure the success of the initiative.

“I want to raise this publicly that the pillars that can let us achieve this are not just only in the executive but also in the legislature, the judiciary, and, more importantly, the audit service. A word to the wise is enough,” he stated.

Speaker Bagbin also noted that the initiative cannot thrive on infrastructure alone. He stressed the need for a strong legal framework and good governance to support its growth.

“The pillars that can let us achieve this are not just in the executive but also in the legislature, the judiciary, and more importantly, the audit service,” Bagbin said. “A word to the wise is enough.”
