The Reverend Canon Oscar C. Amoah, Chairman of the Kumasi Chaplaincy Board (KCB), has urged students to study the word of God, as part of their education to transform their lives.
He said this would also help them to be able to discern what was right from wrong, so that they did not miss their way of life as true Christians.
Rev. Amoah, was speaking at the maiden inter- Bible Quiz organized by the Chaplaincy for 18 second cycle schools in the Ashanti Region.
The keenly contested competition was won by theKumasi Senior High (SHS) School with 103 points. They were decorated with silver pins and presented with a trophy, plaque and “T” shirts.
They were followed by Opoku Ware (SHS) with 100 points, with Asanteman (SHS) placing third with 74 points. Each had a plaque and “T” shirts as their prizes.
Rev. Amoah urged the students to be humble and respectful to their teachers, and refrain acts that could ruin their lives.
Mr. Augustine Marfo, Assistant Headmaster in charge of Academics at the Opoku Ware School, said the programme was laudable, and must be encouraged, aside the academic work.
He urged the participants to study the Bible and apply the Christians doctrines in their lives.
