Students sacked for poor academic performance

Acherensua, (B/A) Oct. 28, GNA- About Sixty-two students of the Acherensua Secondary School in the Asutifi District have been sacked for poor academic performance.

Mr A.A. Adigah, Head master of the school told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that 96 other students whose performance were not too good have been asked to repeat their previous classes.

Mr Adigah said the decision, which was taken by the school’s academic board has took cognisance of the school’s performance at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE). He said discipline has broken down in the school.

Mr Adigah gave the assurance that the school would continue with the exercise until the situation changed for the better. He, therefore, asked parents and guardians to assist the school to train the students so that they could have a brighter future.
