Students donates blood to Juaben Government Hospital

Bonwire (Ash), March 15, GNA – Students of the Bonwire Senior High Technical School, on Tuesday, donated more than 100 pints of blood in support of the Juaben Government Hospital in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality.

This formed part of activities to mark the week-long 20th anniversary celebration of the school.

Mr George Oduro Yeboah, the Headmaster, said it was their contribution towards ensuring that there was sufficient blood at the hospital blood bank to deal with emergencies. He said he was confident that other people would be encouraged by the gesture to do their bit to promote the smooth running of the facility to improve the quality of care and bring relief to the sick.

The Headmaster used the occasion to appeal to all stakeholders to get actively involved in programmes lined up for the celebration to make the event successful and memorable. Mr Maxwell Afeke, Head of the Hospital’s Laboratory, said they were grateful to the students.

He called on all Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of making regular blood donation to the hospitals to help save lives. He took advantage of the opportunity to educate the students on the need to lead healthy lifestyles.
