Student jailed 18 months for double registration

Tema, March 27, GNA- A second-year student of Tema Manhean Secondary/Technical School arrested for double voter’s registration was on Friday jailed 18 months by the Tema circuit court “B”. John Quansah pleaded guilty.
Police Chief Inspector Edith Nutakor told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that on March 24, Quansah first registered at St. Michael centre, Manhean and gave his age as 25.
She said on March 25, he went to another registration centre at Manhean, which is also located near the first one and registered giving his age as 18 years.
He was found to have done double registration when the electoral officials saw the indelible ink on his finger. Chief Inspector Nutakor said the case was reported to the police and was subsequently charged.
