Student drowns in near Waterfall

Gbledi (V/R), June 06, GNA-Mr Lawrence Addison, 19, a final year student of Fijai Senior High School, Western Region, allegedly fell and got drowned in the trough of the Tagbo Waterfalls at Liate near Hohoe at the weekend.

He was among 102 students on an excursion to the Waterfall under the guidance of Mr Akunnor Sackey a House Master of the School.

Mr Wilson Kudze, Hohoe Municipal Police Commander, told the GNA that local divers could not retrieve Addison’s body which got trapped under a rock.

He said the Police were seeking the assistance of Navy personnel at Abotoase to retrieve the body.

Mr Kudze said the Police had commenced investigations into the incident.
