Student collapses and dies at Hospital

Nkoranza (B/A) July 8, GNA – Tragedy hit Brahoho in the Nkoranza District of the Brong-Ahafo Region on Tuesday when a student collapsed while playing football and died on arrival at the hospital. Master Kwame Gyan, 18, a form two student of the Brahoho Junior Secondary School, has since been buried.

Mr Joseph Atta-Poku, Headmaster of the school, told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that the boy fell down suddenly and became unconscious. He said he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Saint Theresa’s Catholic Hospital at Nkoranza.

Mr Kenneth Ampong, District Cultural Officer, expressed regret at the death and said the District had lost a talented student. He said the deceased was adjudged the best in drum language at the Zonal competition held last week at Nkwabeng, and was expected to participate in the Regional Festival in Sunyani.
