Student, 18, before court for stealing a laptop

A Cape Coast Magistrate’s Court on Friday granted bail of Ghc1, 500.00 with surety to Rudolph Ato Yankah, an 18-year-old student, who allegedly stole a laptop computer and a mobile phone.

Yankah, who pleaded not guilty, would reappear before court on November 26. Chief Inspector Charles Anku told the court presided over by Mr. Kwame Ohemeng Mensah that the owner of the items, Mr. William Ocran is a businessman living at Adisadel, a suburb of Cape Coast.

The court heard that the accused frequently visited his friend, who is the son of the businessman

The prosecution said on September 1 this year, Yankah stole the items when he visited his friend at the businessman’s house and went into hiding at Ashaiman, near Tema.

Chief Insp Anku said Yankah was arrested from his hide-out upon a tip off.
