Stowaway fined 500,000 cedis

Accra, May 8, An Accra Circuit Tribunal today fined Gordon Turkson , unemployed, 500,000 cedis for stowing away. Turkson, who pleaded guilty, will go to prison for three months in default. Mr Charles Quist, Chairman of the Tribunal, told Turkson that travelling outside the country is no offence but must not be done without the requisite travelling papers.
