Storm hits Manfo and destroy property

Manfo (Ash), Oct 29, GNA – Twenty-six people were rendered homeless when the roofs of five houses were ripped off during a rainstorm that hit Manfo in the Ahafo-Ano North on Monday.

The roofs of three classroom blocks of Manfo Seventh-Day Seventh-Day_Adventist (SDA) Junior Secondary School and the District Assembly Junior Secondary School library were also ripped off. Mr Kwame Owusu Frimpong, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo-Ano North and Mr Benjamin Bio-Agyemang, the District NADMO Co-ordinator, inspected the damaged buildings.

At least 100 people were also rendered homeless whilst properties worth millions of cedis were damaged when a rainstorm hit Mabang near Tepa in the Ahafo-Ano North District last Thursday and damaged 23 houses.

Three classroom blocks belonging to Even Star, a private preparatory school and the Assemblies of God Church were among the structures that were damaged.
